Savinelli Erica Fiamma 316 KS Smooth Dublin (Unsmoked Estate)

It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

Savinelli’s Erica Fiamma originally debuted in the 1960s, as part of a series of pipes with especially excellent grain patterns, though they haven’t been in production for a long time now. Whether Erica Fiamma was a sub-brand intended for pipes that didn’t quite make it into Savinelli’s Guibileo d’Oro or Punto Oro series (like the Savinelli Fiammata), or whether it was, like the Roma, simply a line unto itself, is still debated. The superior quality of the grain patterns they exhibit, on the other hand, is generally agreed upon. This one takes the form of Savinelli’s wide, Dublin-pot hybrid, the 316 KS, and shows off a tight 360 degrees of straight grain around its bowl that would put many of today’s Savinelli main-line pipes to shame.

This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating.
