How we restore estate pipes
Every estate pipe has history, and sometimes a little wear along with it. Whether it’s a stem in need of repolishing, a bowl that needs reaming, or a full refinish, proper restoration brings a pipe back to smoking condition without losing its character.
In the early days, Mitchell restored our pipes himself. Today our restorations are done by specialists we trust.
Pipe Revival Co
About 80% of our restorations are done by Pipe Revival Co, a restoration shop we co-own. They specialize in full estate pipe restoration, from routine cleaning to complete stem and bowl refinishing.
Briarville Pipe Repair & Restoration
Briarville is one of the largest pipe repair shops in the country, and they handle many of our high-grade pipes and repairs. We’re proud to work closely with them.
What restoration includes
- Cleaning and sanitizing the pipe, inside and out.
- Reaming the bowl.
- Repolishing the stem.
- A full refinish, when the pipe needs one.
- Keeping as much of the pipe’s original character as possible.
Some estate pipes are unsmoked, and every listing tells you which is which.
