Vauen Mokka 5240 Partially Sandblasted Pot Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm
Out of stock
Description
Vauen stems from Germany’s oldest tobacco pipe manufacturing company, tracing its roots back to the founding partnership of Karl Ellenberger and Carl August Ziener in Nuremberg, 1848. Out of the Ellenberger-Ziener partnership soon came the Vauen make itself, which grew to become Germany’s largest and most enduring pipe brand – a title that it continues to hold to this day.
Vauen is a very German pipe company. This is already evident from the precision engineering and cutting-edge designs that one commonly sees in the make’s Design series (such as the Edgar, the Purisme, or the Spin), but it’s a spirit that’s also present in its more traditional pipes. The Mokka, seen here, takes its name—of course—from its coffee-brown, partially sandblasted finish. Notably, the Mokka’s sandblast is carefully and thoroughly applied, with briar selected specifically for a prominent relief pattern. The intention is to create a striking contrast between the smooth and blasted sections of the bowl, while also aiding heat dispersion by way of a deeper texturing—represented here by 360 degrees of layered ring grain.
This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating. It comes with its original box. The pipe is chambered to allow for the use of 9mm filters if desired.
