Description

Molina, also known as Molina di Barasso, is an Italian pipe company with a stronger hold on the world of pipes than it might seem at first glance. Located in Lombardy, at the same premises that Rossi once occupied prior to the latter’s closure, Molina’s factory produces both Molina-brand pipes, as well as pipes for a significant number of other brands and shops. This it does with remarkable consistency in addition to affordability, which the Molina company credits partly to the historic ties, tools, and “secrets” that came with its acquisition of the old Rossi campus—one that has existed since the 19th century.

Taking its name from the Italian for “Corporal,” Molina’s Caporal is distinguished by a set of narrow olivewood and acrylic bands collaring its shank end, evocative of military regalia. This one takes an interestingly Danish form for for such an established Italian pipe company, evoking the egg renditions of legends such as Anne Julie, Former, and Kurt Balleby.

This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating. It is chambered to allow for the use of 9mm filters if desired.
