Vauen McRooty 412 Partially Rusticated Apple Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm
Out of stock
Description
Vauen stems from Germany’s oldest tobacco pipe manufacturing company, tracing its roots back to the founding partnership of Karl Ellenberger and Carl August Ziener in Nuremberg, 1848. Out of the Ellenberger-Ziener partnership soon came the Vauen make itself, which grew to become Germany’s largest and most enduring pipe brand – a title that it continues to hold to this day.
Vauen’s McRooty line has gone through a number of changes over the decades, with this particular version having been discontinued long ago. Furthermore, white dot, or weißer Punkt, on its stem (not to be confused with Dunhill’s White Spot), signifies that this particular McRooty was part of higher end lines, most of which are normally only sold in Europe, which has not always been the case for that line. As for the design itself, it is eminently German; a stout, chubby apple of nosewarmer length, with thick bowl walls and two collars of silver and blue acrylic. While the pipe is mostly rusticated, the rim and the top of the bowl walls have been left smooth, adding a slight extra touch of class to its overall aesthetc.
This Vauen is completely unsmoked, with a factory-original bowl coating. It also comes with its original (slightly time-worn) box and sleeve. The pipe is chambered to allow for the use of 9mm filters if desired.
