Papa Bear’s Pipes are made by North American artisan Tim Beaumont. Beaumont has been making pipes since 2018, cultivating a unique style that isn’t afraid to mix and match design elements and to create something completely out of the ordinary.

There’s nothing quite like a Danish Dublin. Introduced to the world by our lord and savior Sixten Ivarsson, it’s a shape that’s held firm in the imaginations of pipe smokers and makers for the last half century, and for good reason. In the last couple of decades, it’s also become a staple among American artisans, including Ohio’s Tim Beaumont. In this rendition, for example, Beaumont skillfully matches the shape’s broad and organic figure with a full 360 degrees of naturalflame grain, as well as a slightly backward “leaning” rim covered in bird’s-eye. Regarding accents, in this instance Beaumont has made use of another popular element within modern artisan pipe making, spalted wood, whose alternating striations mirror those of the bowl’s contrast finish.
