Vauen by Barontini Smooth Nosewarmer w/ Chain Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm

Out of stock

Vauen stems from Germany’s oldest tobacco pipe manufacturing company, tracing its roots back to the founding partnership of Karl Ellenberger and Carl August Ziener in Nuremberg, 1848. Out of the Ellenberger-Ziener partnership soon came the Vauen make itself, which grew to become Germany’s largest and most enduring pipe brand—a title that it continues to hold to this day.

Now this is a type of pipe I haven’t seen in years. I believe they’re referred to as “fishing pipes” (there may be a more technical term but, alas, I am not known to fish), having a special metal clasp to clip onto one’s jacket or lanyard, so that the pipe is kept safe and ready to hand while performing more exerting outdoor activities (such as casting a line). The rest of the design is in keeping with such a purpose, being modest, utilitarian, compact and lightweight, and so on.

The pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original (now quite flaked) bowl coating. It is chambered to allow for the use of 9mm filters if desired.
