Savinelli Toscana 614 Smooth Oom Paul Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates, 6mm

Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
The Toscana was a Savinelli line from the 2000s, if memory serves me right, one that has subsequently been discontinued (as has been the fate of many a pipe, including Savinellis). Not unlike the Savinelli Oscar the Toscana was of a modest design, pairing a warm, brown smooth polished finish with a black vulcanite stem, though that didn’t stop them from having very pleasant grain, as this one demonstrates. As for the shape, this one is also rendered in Savinelli’s classic full bent shape “614,” an easy-hanging Oom Paul rendition.
The condition is very good. Minor handling marks and some slight residual stem oxidation. This pipe is chambered to allow for the use of 6mm filters, such as Savinelli’s own balsa filters, if desired, but will also perform perfectly well without one.
