Savinelli Ol’ Times Classic Rusticated Billiard (6mm) (Estate)

It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

The Ol’ Times Classic was a line released by Savinelli years ago, which I suppose makes it a doubly ol’ time line now. I’m not too sure how it got the name, as the mouthpiece is, at least, quite modern in design, though the finishing was aptly evocative of days gone by, expressed as a light, slightly weathered looking rustication—sort of like a sandblast after many decades of service. This particular example takes the form of a traditional large billiard, further adding to the “classic” aesthetic of the line it belongs to.

The condition is great. Lightly smoked at most. This pipe is chambered to fit 6mm filters if desired, such as Savinelli’s own balsa filters, though it will perform perfectly well without one.
