Peterson pipes generally need no introduction, but just in case you’re unfamiliar: in 1876, a Latvian named Charles Peterson immigrated to Ireland and was hired making pipes in a workshop owned by Frederick and George Kapp. After rising through the ranks to become head craftsman, Peterson bought into the Kapp’s business, which was renamed, Kapp & Peterson (K&P). During this time, Peterson himself applied for several patents for pipe designs, including the world-famous Peterson’s System. Since then, Peterson has become one of the most recognizable names in pipe smoking and continues to produce high quality pipes from their headquarters in Dublin.

Since 2009, Peterson has released an annual, limited edition, “Christmas Pipe,” one separate in design from their Pipe of the Year and other seasonal offerings. For the 2025 release, Peterson appears to have taken two other excellent recent iterations, the 2023 and 2024 Christmas Pipes, and merged them into a design that is equal parts festive, tasteful, and classic. Combining the understated plum finish of the 2023 release with the copper mounts of the 2024 (and 2022) one, 2025’s Christmas Pipe was distinguished by a red and gold motif that gelled perfectly with the make’s house rustication and black vulcanite mouthpieces. The result was a pipe that feels especially suited for the holiday season, but also perfectly at home in any other time of the year.

This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating.
