Papa Bear’s Pipes are made by North American artisan Tim Beaumont. Beaumont has been making pipes since 2018, cultivating a unique style that isn’t afraid to mix and match design elements and to create something completely out of the ordinary.

Those who follow Tim Beaumont’s work will know that he has a genuine talent for contrast finishes, utilizing layers of alternating stains to bring out the briar’s fullest potential. This works especially well for Beaumont’s sandblasted finishes, where his staining technique has the briar’s natural ring grain really “pop.” This slightly freehand Dublin adds another layer to that, blending a red and black contrast finish with a darker, “fumed” approach to the bowl’s rim, which nicely complements the live plateaux edge it culminates in.
