Eriksen (by Nording) Rusticated Bulldog (Estate)

Nørding was founded by Erik Nørding in the 1960s, and is one of the oldest remaining companies to come out of the Scandinavian pipe-making renaissance that began in the mid-20th century. Now in his 80s, Erik Nørding is one of the most experienced and skilled pipe-makers in the world, and over the decades he has also been a teacher of other Danish masters, such as Poul Ilsted, Svend Axel Celius, Jens Tao Nielsen, Peder Jeppesen, and Søren Erik Andersen.

Eriksen has been something of a sub-brand for Nørding for many years, though the ways Nørding has used the Eriksen brand has changed over time. Recently, Eriksen pipes have been a kind of “semi-handmade” Nørding product, being initially fraised using machinery akin to factory production methods, before being finished by hand. The most recent example of this are Nørding’s Keystone pipes, manufactured under the Eriksen name, though before the Keystone, there were pipes like this one; a squat English bulldog with a slight Englishness to it, and is dressed in a two-tone, partially micro-rusticated finish.

The condition is very good. Very minor rim darkening and finish fading.
