Rattray's

The House of Rattray began as a tobacconist in Perth, Scotland, in 1903 under Charles Rattray. It became known both as a blending house and as a purveyor of Rattray’s tobacco pipes produced for the shop by established pipe manufacturers.

The Rattray’s name later changed hands and is now associated with Germany’s Kopp company. Contemporary Rattray’s pipes have been sourced from respected European manufacturers, including workshops in France and Italy. The modern catalog ranges from restrained traditional shapes to larger or more unconventional designs, with many models drilled for 9mm filters.

MBSD’s selection has included series such as Old Gowrie, Marlin, The Druids, Six Friends, Dark Ale, Distillery, Ahoy, Sanctuary, and Craggy Root. Depending on provenance, a Rattray’s pipe may be classified as new, estate, or unsmoked estate. The available selection changes as new shipments, collections, and trade-ins arrive.
