Vauen O’Timer 205 Smooth Silver Spigot Apple Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm
Out of stock
Description
Vauen stems from Germany’s oldest tobacco pipe manufacturing company, tracing its roots back to the founding partnership of Karl Ellenberger and Carl August Ziener in Nuremberg, 1848. Out of the Ellenberger-Ziener partnership soon came the Vauen make itself, which grew to become Germany’s largest and most enduring pipe brand—a title that it continues to hold to this day.
Though it now appears to be discontinued, the O’Timer belonged to Vauen’s Weißpunkt (English: “White Point”) series, reserved for Vauen’s high-end lines of all stripes. In contrast to some of Vauen’s more colorful, or experimental, designs, the O’Timer was a decidedly traditional affair—or “old-timey,” as we English speakers sometimes say. As such, the pipes were dressed in a modest, midcentury-style finish (this being the golden brown variant), while also being fitted with genuine, sterling silver spigot mounts, just like the simple-yet-effortlessly-elegant, high-end pipes of decades past.
This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating. A few small scratches on the bowl, though minor and purely cosmetic in nature.
