Unknown Reverse Calabash Translucent Meerschaum Billiard with Silver (Unsmoked Estate)

Long stem shapes, like the churchwarden, are not all that common among meerschaum pipes, so it was interesting to see this one come in via our estates pipeline. It’s not quite a churchwarden, but I’d feel comfortable labeling it something like a “demi-warden,” as it is especially long (and ornate) when it comes to the mouthpiece. The pipe also features a silver-mounted reverse calabash system, which, combined with the pipe’s block meerschaum bowl and aforementioned long stem, should make for an especially cool, dry smoke. Though I don’t know the carver behind the pipe, from the look of the bowl’s marbling, it appears to be made from so-called “translucent” meerschaum, an especially high-grade variety of such, owing to its exceptional purity, porosity, and quickness to color.

This pipe is completely unsmoked and comes with its original hard case. Some slight scratches around the bowl, though nothing major.
