Stefano Santambrogio Partially Rusticated Dublin Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm

Description

Stefano Santambrogio is one of only a handful of people in the world that can claim to be a third-generation pipe-maker. Like Nanna Ivarsson and Federico Becker, Santambrogio’s father and grandfather both made their living crafting pipes, with Santambrogio inheriting his workshop from his father, Renzo, just as Renzo inherited it (with his brother Armando) from his father, Stefano Sr.

Stefano Santambrogio’s pipes are more playful than most other Italian workshop makes. Like Denmark’s Peder Jeppesen, Santambrogio’s pipes are typically colorful, incorporating mixed finishes and accents in designs that are unique both in relation to other Italian pipes and in relation to other pipes from his own workshop. This one is a good example of that, blending a rather Danish approach to the form of the Dublin, but with a far more Italian rustication around its bowl, as well as two acrylic accents at its shank end.

This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating. It is chambered to allow for the use of 9mm filters if desired.
