Savinelli Hercules 510 EX Rusticated Bulldog Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates

It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

Savinelli’s Hercules is a rather unique line in the make’s portfolio, featuring all but exclusive, oversized renditions of classic shapes from Savinelli’s catalog. The 510 EX seen here, for example, is an even larger take on Savinelli’s 510 KS bulldog, with proportions that match those of, say, a post-war Dunhill ODA. This one is dressed in the line’s brick-red, partially rusticated finish.

The condition is good. Some finish fading on the front of the bowl and some minor inner rim darkening.
