Savinelli De Luxe Milano 514 KS Smooth Long Shank Bulldog (Estate)

t is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

The De Luxe Milano was a rather early pipe in Savinelli’s catalog, conceived during the first decades of Achille Savinelli Jr’s Milan factory. These pipes were, for the most part, very traditional, offered in smooth walnut and sandblast finishes, and marketed to the pipe connoisseurs of the day. This one is rendered in Savinelli’s very distinctive shape “514 KS,” a long shank bulldog that is all but discontinued within the make’s catalog these days, appearing only sporadically as part of a few small, limited release “legacy stock” lines.

The condition is good. Some inner rim charring, finish fading, and slight handling marks.
