Pipa Croci True Bizzarra Extra Large Smooth Pitcher (Estate)

Pipa Croci was founded by Italian artisans Paolo Croci and Gianni Croci in 1983, and in the decades that followed, the two would make a name for themselves (quite literally) owing to the high-quality, handmade pipes that emerged from their workshop in Lombardy. As Pipa Croci is a thoroughly artisanal enterprise, each pipe is unique, with some being more traditional, and others being more modern.

The “Bizzarra” is, as one might guess from the name, a series of pipes that sit firmly at the modern end of the Croci brothers’ output. While not “freehands” as the term is typically understood, they are, nonetheless, rather freeform, taking relatively classical shapes and warping them in novel and interesting ways. This one has something of the brandy to it, for example, but its bowl has been “squeezed” inward around the top, in a manner evocative of a pitcher plant.

The condition is great. Some minor wear to the rim.
