Paronelli Vogue Wire Rusticated Stack Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates

Paronelli is an Italian pipe company founded by Jean-Marie Alberto Paronelli in the 1940s, one that has remained within the Paronelli family ever since. Things have changed significantly, however, in the eight decades of Paronelli pipes thus far. Under Jean-Marie, Paronelli pipes were often sourced from outside artisans, most famously including Tommaso Spanu. This appears to have continued when the reins of Paronelli were passed to Jean-Marie’s son, Antonio Paronelli, notable for his more colorful design portfolio. After Alberto passed on the reins once more to his own son, Ariberto, Paronelli became much more of a conventional artisan make, with Ariberto crafting each Paronelli pipe by hand in his workshop.

Distinguished by their finely hewn, wire rusticated finishes and colorful acrylic mouthpieces, Ariberto Paronelli’s Vogue series is a little more difficult to get one’s hands on than most in the Paronelli portfolio. Such pipes were only offered to select distributors, giving them an exclusive quality, especially if those distributors fell outside of one’s geographical reach. Luckily, the estates market has provided us with another avenue for obtaining one. This one is a stubby, but exceptionally tall, bent stack rendition, affording both portability and plenty by way of chamber capacity.

The condition is very good. Some darkening and slight scuffing on the rim. This pipe comes with its original box and sleeve.
