Papa Bear’s Pipes are made by North American artisan Tim Beaumont. Beaumont has been making pipes since 2018, cultivating a unique style that isn’t afraid to mix and match design elements and to create something completely out of the ordinary.
“Scalloped egg” rendition have become something of a signature in Tim Beaumont’s portfolio, though most typically they take the form of egg-cutty hybrids not unlike those of early Danish post-war pipe design. In the case of this one, however, it is much closer to the “egg” as we know it today, owing to much later developments in the Danish scene. Tall, plump, and eminently organic, this one wears one of Beaumont’s deep, craggy sandblasted finishes and is accented with a tulipwood shank ring and hand-cut cumberland mouthpiece.
