Moonshine MS13L Dark Smooth Hillbilly Long Stem (New)

The Moonshine Pipe Company was created in the early 2010s by American artisan craftsman Johnathan Lavezzo. After becoming a major hit in the tobacco pipe community, Lavezzo’s production became greatly outpaced by demand, leading him to enlist the help of Todd Johnson and Pete Prevost in scaling up the venture. Johnson and Prevost’s Briarworks workshop took on the manufacture of Moonshine pipes, with the former ultimately acquiring the latter. Today, Moonshine and BriarWorks pipes are produced under the same roof in Tennessee.

The “Hillbilly” is Moonshine’s flagship billiard rendition, and it’s one that’s particularly close to the workshop’s heart. It is based on a pipe made by Pete Prevost himself while working at the BriarWorks/Moonshine workshop, and which he keeps handy just about all the time as a compact, pocket-friendly smoker. The standard Hillbilly is essentially a nosewarmer, however, so for those who prefer their billiards to be a little lengthier, Moonshine also makes the Hillbilly Long Stem, offering the same slight and slender proportions and easy portability, without being quite as short. This one is dressed in Moonshine’s Dark Smooth contrast finish and paired with a black acrylic mouthpiece.
