Description
Molina, also known as Molina di Barasso, is an Italian pipe company with a stronger hold on the world of pipes than it might seem at first glance. Located in Lombardy, at the same premises that Rossi once occupied prior to the latter’s closure, Molina’s factory produces both Molina-brand pipes, as well as pipes for a significant number of other brands and shops. This it does with remarkable consistency in addition to affordability, which the Molina company credits partly to the historic ties, tools, and “secrets” that came with its acquisition of the old Rossi campus—one that has existed since the 19th century.
The Ambra is one of Molina’s most traditional designs, and a rather elegant one at that. In a manner evocative of late 19th and early 20th century briars, each Ambra is rendered in a classic, Anglo-French shape, given a simple light smooth or dark sandblasted finish, and fitted with a faux-spigot mount and an amber-toned acrylic mouthpiece to fully drive that aesthetic home.
This pipe is chambered to allow for the use of 9mm filters if desired.
