The MBSD Meerschaum Silver is our line of silver-mounted meerschaum pipes. Using the same high-grade, fast-coloring Turkish meerschaum found on our Deluxe series, these pipes exclusively feature silver army mounts or spigot mounts.

Long-time visitors to MBSD Pipes will know how much I enjoy blending various shapes and styles for our meerschaum pipe designs. Our latest batch of MBSD Meerschaums have included some prime examples, this being one of them. Taking the form of a stubby, exceedingly plump egg, it owes as much to Danish masters such as Nanna Ivarsson and Jens Tao Nielsen as it does the “Saint Petersburg school” of Vladimir Grechukhin and his many apprentices and acolytes. But it also makes sure to stick to its Turkish roots, wearing a hand-carved, intricate finish of floral and guilloche motifs. As a last touch, the pipe has been fitted with a reverse calabash system, i.e., a hollowed chamber nestled within the shank, giving the smoke more room to cool and dry as it takes the relatively short journey from the pipe’s chamber to its silver-mounted mouthpiece.
