Lane Limited Smooth Lovat w/ Acrylic Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates
Out of stock
Description
Lane Limited was founded by German Jewish refugee Herman Lane in the 1930s, and soon rose to become a veritable empire in the tobacco industry. Drawing on a wealth of experience as the manager of a tobacco company in his native Dresden, Lane set up shop on Park Avenue in New York, out of which his new Lane Limited venture was based. Lane himself was a committed pipe smoker with era-defining taste, being the first importer of Charatan pipes to the United States and, later, one of the main distributors of Preben Holm’s pipes through the Ben Wade make.
As with another Lane Limited pipe that came in recently, this one happens to be Italian made, with that same aesthetic not wholly unlike that of Caminetto or its offshoots. This time it’s a distinctive Lovat rendition, with an asymmetric saddle mouthpiece cut from a marbled acrylic, accented by an ivory-hued collar.
The condition is good. Some rim darkening and minor inner rim charring.
