Kaywoodie pipes are as American as apple pie. Starting in 1919 as a pipe brand for KB&B, a pipe shop dating all the way back to 1851, Kaywoodie has since then been a staple of American-made pipes. In the present, many Kaywoodies are collectors’ items, in addition to being fantastic smokers.

Though Kaywoodie is not normally known for their Pipes of the Year, the company has, in recent times, made exactly that. Under the watch of S.M. Frank, an annual, limited run of special Kaywoodie pipes was introduced in 2003, with just 100 pipes made for each run between 2003 and 2010, and then just 150 pipes made per year from 2010 onward. These pipes have become quite the collector’s item, especially as S.M. Frank’s president, Bill Feuerbach, was heavily involved in their manufacture.

For the 2008 release, Kaywoodie’s Pipe of the Year was an impressively stout, sitting poker rendition, dressed in a densely craggy sandblasted finish. Only 100 pipes were made in total, with this being number 93.

This pipe is completely unsmoked, and comes with its original (slightly time-worn) box and sleeve.
