Bonfiglioli 1998 CORPS Sandblasted Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked

Having been making pipes since 1974, Alberto Bonfiglioli is one of Italy’s most seasoned artisans. Based in Bologna, where he runs his own pipe store and local pipe club, Bonfiglioli today makes around 100 pipes per year, using only choice briar aged for at least a decade.

Alberto Bonfiglioli has a longstanding friendship with the Conclave of Richmond Pipe Smokers, based in Virginia, often producing pipes for its various meetups. These pipes are made for various purposes, such as raffle prizes or club pipes. I would imagine that this is the latter for 1998, as he usually creates a unique “For Collectors” model for the raffles. Nevertheless, it’s a good old, “strong jawed” Italian billiard, with a rich, sandblasted finish showing off plenty of ring grain.

This pipe is completely unsmoked and comes with its original box and sleeve.
