Unknown (Edward’s?) XL Smooth Brandy Estate Briar Pipe, American Estates
Out of stock
Description
This pipe came in with a large lot of Edward’s pipes, a significant pipe company in the United States in the 20th century and which Randy Wiley once worked for. As it unstamped, I can’t confirm with certainty who made the pipe, though, as with a few others in the Edward’s lot, it is certainly in the style of Edward’s famous “Algerian Briar” pipes (and indeed of the contemporaneous, nascent American freehand scene). Just like some of the Edward’s pipes we’ve seen, for example, this one also features a golden acrylic mount. It’s also simply a very nice, very large, pipe, having clearly been shaped freehand into a bulbous, rather Danish brandy rendition.
The condition is very good. Some wear to the rim and minor handling marks.
