Savinelli Alligator 673 Partially Rusticated Bulldog with Cumberland (Estate)

Out of stock

It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

Savinelli’s Alligator series offers a distinct approach to pipe aesthetics, being essentially a mixed finish of smooth and rusticated sections that evoke the reptilian hide of its namesake. This one is rendered in Savinelli’s modern take on the bent bulldog, the “673 KS,” but it’s a little different to the Alligators Savinelli currently makes. That’s because it has a cumberland mouthpiece, rather than the red and black brindled acrylic used on the contemporary Alligator line. Mouthpieces of this sort were more common within Savinelli’s output many years ago, before acrylic became the norm.

The condition is very good. Some finish fading and minor oxidation on the mouthpiece.
