Peterson 2022 Christmas Pipe 01 Smooth Bent Pot Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked

Description
Peterson pipes generally need no introduction, but just in case you’re unfamiliar: in 1876, a Latvian named Charles Peterson immigrated to Ireland and was hired making pipes in a workshop owned by Frederick and George Kapp. After rising through the ranks to become head craftsman, Peterson bought into the Kapp’s business, which was renamed, Kapp & Peterson (K&P). During this time, Peterson himself applied for several patents for pipe designs, including the world-famous Peterson’s System. Since then, Peterson has become one of the most recognizable names in pipe smoking and continues to produce high quality pipes from their headquarters in Dublin.
Since 2009, Peterson has released an annual, limited edition, “Christmas Pipe,” one separate in design from their Pipe of the Year and other seasonal offerings. I’ve spoken before at lngth about my fondness for the 2022 and 2024 Peterson Christmas Pipes; the reserved color palette, the classic shapes, the unique copper mounts. They were simply lovely, and it’s a shame that Peterson hasn’t released anything quite like them since. Thank goodness for estates, at least. This one, from 2022, features a copper spigot mount (some featured army mounts, while others had full spigot mounts) and is dressed in Peterson’s house “Heritage,” finish, a modest, though warm, garb, fittingly evocative of roasted chestnuts.
This pipe is completely unsmoked, too, with an original bowl coating.
