P. Viou pipes were originally made by Paul Viou, an early French artisan working around the early to mid-20th century. The P. Viou trademark was, however, later acquired by various major French pipe companies, including Vuillard and Genod. As with another P. Viou that came in recently I have a feeling this one will be from Genod, in whose safe hands the make has been for a while now (the Genod workshop, after all, has about 150 years of accumulated expertise in pipe making). This one is a beautifully grained, classic bulldog, one that does well to represents it history and pedigree.
The condition is very good. Slight finish fading.
