Orlik was an English pipe manufacturer founded in 1899 by Louis Orlik. While originally the company’s mission was to produce low-cost pipes, the make would ultimately be known for the distinctly high quality of their products. Consequently, Orlik pipes are today a favorite among pipe smokers and collectors, especially those who prefer the hobby’s Great British classics.
This is a curious little pipe from Orlik. It’s what I’d call a short-bowled brandy, as it doesn’t have the 90 degree angles of a pot traditional pot, nor the sleek curve of a prince or a diplomat. But that’s not a bad thing – it’s a very nice design, one made even nicer by the almost camouflage-like contrast stain it wears.
This Orlik is also completely unsmoked, with a factory-original bowl coating to help with the break-in process.
