Description

The MBSD Meerschaum Silver is our line of silver mounted meerschaum pipes. Using the same high-grade, fast-coloring Turkish meerschaum found on our Deluxe series, these pipes exclusively feature silver army mounts or spigot mounts.

The calabash is a shape that has accompanied meerschaum pipes since their beginnings, and though the materials and forms involved in their construction have changed as it mutated into various distinct species, the basic idea has nonetheless persisted all the way into the contemporary. This MBSD Meerschaum rendition takes the shaping of the calabash and reverses it—quite literally. Instead of a removable cap and hollow chamber, it features a single-piece bowl and a wide, hollowed shank. The latter thus achieves much the same process of cooling and drying smoke associated with the hollow body of gourd calabashes and the like, without needing to be as large as the latter. Being made almost entirely of meerschaum, the bowl is also suitable for intricate Turkish carvings, seen here in a symphony of guilloche patterns.

This pipe comes with a custom-fitted hard case.
