Description

Much like the MBSD Meerschaum Silver and Silver Cap lines, the Double Silver is comprised exclusively of sterling silver-mounted meerschaum. But, as the name suggests, Double Silver pipes are mounted not once, but twice. Each features a sterling silver cap at its rim, protecting the bowl and chamber from slips of the flame and lava build-up, as well as a sterling silver fitment at the shank end, typically in the form of an army mount. Each is made using the same high-grade, fast-coloring Turkish block meerschaum found on our other various meerschaum lines, but with even more finery than any of the meers we’ve offered thus far.

This particular Double Silver Meerschaum is a little more traditional than many of the designs we offer, taking on a form that is today commonly associated with briar pipes, but which has its roots much further back in time. That shape is the Oom Paul, a full-bent, tall, and large-chambered billiard beloved equally by the pipe makers of yesteryear and of the contemporary. The shaping on this one was inspired by the greats of Anglo-French briars, from traditional makes like Comoy’s, Peterson, and Sasieni, to post-war Italian workshops like Caminetto, though it also includes a few extra touches, such as an amber-toned acrylic mouthpiece to further its old-world feel, as well as a a reverse calabash system in its shank.

This pipe comes with a custom-fitted hard case.
