Description

Much like the MBSD Meerschaum Silver and Silver Cap lines, the Double Silver is comprised exclusively of sterling silver-mounted meerschaum. But, as the name suggests, Double Silver pipes are mounted not once, but twice. Each features a sterling silver cap at its rim, protecting the bowl and chamber from slips of the flame and lava build-up, as well as a sterling silver fitment at the shank end, typically in the form of an army mount. Each is made using the same high-grade, fast-coloring Turkish block meerschaum found on our other various meerschaum lines, but with even more finery than any of the meers we’ve offered thus far.

In the case of this one, for example, the idea was to take something akin to a Danish egg from the briar artisan world, such as those one might see in the work of Former, S. Bang, or the many pipe makers that have emerged in their wake, and give it not only a more “Turkish” feel, but perhaps even a more lavish one. Carved from premium meerschaum and dressed in a lattice of teardrop carvings, it features mounts of sterling silver at both ends, as well as a reverse calabash system in its shank, which should provide an even cooler, drier smoke than a standard-bore meerschaum pipe.

This pipe comes with a custom-fitted hard case.
