MBSD Meerschaum Deluxe Floral Carved Brandy with Briar-Mortise (New)

At MBSD we sell a lot of high-grade, high-quality pipes from various iconic makes, but some of the pipes we’re most proud of are our meerschaums. Right from the beginning, we wanted to offer the best smoking meers on the market, and to do this, we had them made with two distinct features. First, we made sure that they were made with block meerschaum that was carefully selected to be the most lightweight, pure, and porous available, meaning it would also color more quickly and evenly as it is smoked. Second, for our Deluxe meerschaums, we had the pipes made with a patented Briar-Mortise system that is closer to the stem connection on a briar pipe than a standard meerschaum. This is because, on our Deluxe models, the mortise is made from briar itself, while the tenons used are made from Delrin. This allows for more precision construction of the pipe’s draft hole, as well as a general extra durability and longevity.

The brandy is something of an ideal shape for a meerschaum pipe, perhaps even more so than it is for briar. And a big part of that is its roundness; a round bowl aids in heat dispersion (just as it does for briar), but it also provides a highly uniform distribution of mass relative to the pipe’s chamber, helping to foster an even coloring of the bowl as it absorbs particles from the smoke that passes through it. This Deluxe-line rendition leans into the aesthetics of early to mid-century meerschaum carving by way of its traditional shaping, as well as its imitation-horn acrylic mouthpiece, but adds some quintessentially Turkish artistry to the design by way of ornate floral and knotwork carvings.

This pipe comes with a custom-fitted hard case.
