Mastro Beraldi Rusticated & Sandblasted Stack Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm
Out of stock
Description
Mastro Beraldi pipes are made by Italy’s Pierluigi family. Their workshop is headed by Aldo Pierluigi, who has been a respected artisan pipe maker since the 1970s. The Pierluigi family are also responsible for the Pierluigi make, as well as Mario Grandi.
Mixed finishes are not entirely uncommon, but it is rare to see blended finishes. This stacked bent billiard from Italy’s Pierluigi family is certainly unique, and not just because of its half-saddle Lucite stem and ornate silver collar. The bowl appears to have first been rusticated, with furrows etched in circular patterns around its bowl, before spending a healthy amount of time in the sandblasting cabinet. To say that the finish has depth would be an understatement, given that the bowl is rich with an interplay of ring grain and hand-hewn peaks and valleys.
This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating. It is chambered to allow for the use of 9mm filters if desired.
