Description
J.M. Boswell is one of North America’s most revered artisan pipe makers, with Boswell pipes typically selling out within minutes of going on sale. With a pipe-making career that started in the 1970s, J.M. Boswell has become the equivalent of a household name in the pipe world, both for his pipes and for serving as the patriarch of family-owned Pennsylvania tobacconist Boswell’s.
In the pipe world, few things say “American made” as much as one of J.M. Boswell’s works. Renowned for their rough-and-ready aesthetics and for their tendency to be “well-oiled smoking machines,” there’s a good reason why Boswell’s pipes sell about as quickly as they’re made. This one is exceptionally representative of the artisan’s style. A decidedly oversized Rhodesian rendition, the pipe mixes finishes by way of a near-black, stony rustication at the bowl and a slight contrast stain following grain patterns as they ascend the shank. A simple black mouthpiece ties it all together, reinforcing the pipe’s no-nonsense, two-tone color palette.
This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating. It comes with its original sleeve.
