Description

Caminetto was, and is to this day, a decisive figure in the history of Italy’s pipe workshop tradition. After spending time developing their skills in the Castello workshop, Sergio Ascorti and Luigi Radice left to found their own venture, which they named, ‘Caminetto.’ Here, Ascorti and Radice were able to create their own now-classic shapes and finishes, such as the rusticated ‘Business,’ and the carved, wax-drip ‘New Dear.’

While Roberto and Tommaso Ascorti’s revival has largely moved away from the (somewhat loose) shape charts that the older Caminetto make had ultimately settled on, there are still certain designs that repeat in their portfolio. These are most visible in the yearly, limited edition “Event” pipes that the Ascortis make, but keen observers will note still that, even among the “standard” production Caminetto pipes, motifs and approaches to shaping do recur every now and then. This stacked Rhodesian, with a sterling silver faux spigot, is one such design, or at least a genre in the new Caminetto style. It is a thoroughly modern take on an old staple, mixing organic and industrial elements in the service of creating something that, aside from occasional, other pipes from the Caminetto workshop, you won’t see anywhere else.

The condition is excellent. Smoked once or twice at most.
