Big Ben Special Grain A XXL Bent Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm

Description

Big Ben is a Dutch pipe brand presently owned by Gubbels, the same company that currently manufactures Hilson and Bentley pipes. Though, as with many brands owned by Gubbels, there’s a long history to it, especially being one of the very few major pipe brands to have come out of the Netherlands.

I’ve only seen one other example of a Big Ben Special Grain before, though from what I can tell, they tended toward larger proportion and—as gestured by the name—superior graining, which is all the more of an achievement given their size. That’s certainly the case with this one, a full bent billiard in the English vein of near-magnum stature, with flame grain circling the entirety of its towering bowl.

This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating, and comes with its original sleeve. It is chambered to allow for the use of 9mm filters if desired. Some very slight scratches on the bowl and minor residual oxidation on the stem, though nothing major.
