Big Ben Buckingham 200 Smooth Bent Billiard w/ Silver Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm

Big Ben is a Dutch pipe brand presently owned by Gubbels, the same company that currently manufactures Hilson and Bentley pipes. Though, as with many brands owned by Gubbels, there’s a long history to it, especially being one of the very few major pipe brands to have come out of the Netherlands.

While the Big Ben Buckingham line is one currently available for sale, it’s nothing like this one, meaning the design must have changed at some point (which, as we’ve seen from the many Savinelli and Peterson estates that come through, is far from uncommon). While the current Buckingham wears a very modern matte finish, in a variety of colors, this one is much more traditional, with a golden contrast stain that does much more to show off the grain underneath. Unlike the current Buckingham, this one also wears a nice, sterling silver collar, living up to its regal connotations a little more, I’d say.

This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating. A few superficial scratches on the bowl, though nothing major. The pipe is chambered to allow for the use of 9mm filters if desired.
