Ascorti belongs to one of the most important lineages in modern Italian pipe making. Today, the family workshop is led by Roberto Ascorti and his son Tommaso, who continue the historic legacy established by Giuseppe “Peppino” Ascorti and his work with Caminetto. Peppino began his career at Castello during the 1950s before helping found Caminetto with Luigi Radice. In 1980, Roberto established the Ascorti marque, joined by his father and several former Caminetto craftsmen.

Ascorti tobacco pipes are recognized for muscular Italian shaping, substantial bowls, colorful Lucite stems, and distinctive hand-applied finishes. The rugged Business rustication, crisp Sabbia di Oro sandblast, and sculptural New Dear “wax drip” carving are among the workshop’s best-known treatments. Ascorti has also produced smooth pipes, reverse-calabash designs, Christmas editions, commemorative releases, and pipes for other marques, including 4th Generation.
