Veteran pipe smokers will likely be familiar with the name Wessex, as it is a brand of pipe tobacco that includes many a cult favorite (Campaign Dark Flake being one of my own). As for pipes themselves, Wessex’s owners have, for many years, contracted various manufacturers to produce Wessex-brand briars. This particular example was made by the venerable French Chapuis-Comoy company, makers of Chacom pipes, taking the form of a classic, sandblasted Canadian, with a hand-cut cumberland mouthpiece.
The condition is good. Minor inner rim darkening and some finish fading.
