Vauen Patina 237 Sandblasted Apple Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm

Out of stock

Description

Vauen stems from Germany’s oldest tobacco pipe manufacturing company, tracing its roots back to the founding partnership of Karl Ellenberger and Carl August Ziener in Nuremberg, 1848. Out of the Ellenberger-Ziener partnership soon came the Vauen make itself, which grew to become Germany’s largest and most enduring pipe brand – a title that it continues to hold to this day.

Belonging to Vauen’s high-grade Weisspunkt, or White Dot, series, the Patina is yet another example of a highly unique design from the ever-innovative German make. While the core of the pipe is good old fashioned briar (running from the chamber all the way through to the end of the draft hole), this core has been cased in a larch wood exterior, giving the Patina its signature look. Larch wood is especially receptive to sandblasting, giving it an extraordinarily deep relief pattern when finished in this way. This particular Patina has furthermore been given a denim-esque contrast finish, making it even more visually striking.

This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating, having come to us via a large new old stock batch from Europe. As with most Vauen pipes, it is chambered to allow for the use of 9mm filters if desired.
