Vauen Konsul 481 Rusticated Straight Apple Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm

Out of stock

Description

Vauen stems from Germany’s oldest tobacco pipe manufacturing company, tracing its roots back to the founding partnership of Karl Ellenberger and Carl August Ziener in Nuremberg, 1848. Out of the Ellenberger-Ziener partnership soon came the Vauen make itself, which grew to become Germany’s largest and most enduring pipe brand – a title that it continues to hold to this day.

The Konsul is a line that Vauen has produced for decades, but its design has gone through a number of iterations. It has always been one of Vauen’s high end lines, however, as evinced by the weißer Punkt (‘white dot’) on its stem, which Vauen uses to designate such pipes This Konsul is an iteration that is out of production now, being a partially rusticated finish with a smooth polished rim and a jet black stem. It’s simple, but very elegant and tasteful. The shape is great too, being a distinctly German, large, wide apple.

Despite being out of production for quite a while, this Vauen is completely unsmoked, with a factory-original bowl coating to help ease in its first smokes. It also comes with its original box and sleeve. The pipe, like most Vauens, is chambered for 9mm filters, but adapters can be purchased that will allow it to be smoked without one.
