Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
Savinelli has sold stubbier, more compact renditions of its more popular designs for many years, though in contrast to the Mini line sold today, the Short was far more reserved in design. Employing a similar rusticated finish and slender brass accent as the Roma line, the Short was simply a pocket-friendly pipe in the classic Savinelli style, as seen on this charming little bent pot (which, despite not having a shape number, I would imagine is a shape 602 rendition).
The condition is great. Very minor wear to the rim. The pipe is chambered to allow for the use of 6mm filters if desired, such as Savinelli’s own balsa filters, but will perform perfectly well without one.
