Pipe Tristan Timeless Series Smooth Apple Briar Pipe, New
Out of stock
Description
I used to say that Pipe Tristan’s Tristan Lefebvre was part of a “new wave” of “up-and-coming” artisans from France, the very birthplace of the briar pipe. But that description doesn’t do him justice these days. Lefebvre isn’t so much a “part” of the latest generation of French artisans as the craftsman leading the charge; likewise, he is no longer “up-and-coming,” but has already secured himself a place alongside historic compatriots such as Alain Albuisson, Paul Lanier, and Pierre Morel Sr and Jr. In fact, in 2025, he was inducted into the Confrérie des Maîtres Pipiers de Saint-Claude, a prestigious French association of master pipe makers whose ranks have included Albuisson, Lanier, and Morel the younger.
The “Timeless” series is a new range of pipes by French artisan Tristan Lefebvre, one aimed at applying Lefebvre’s skills as a high-grade artisan to pipes that are more affordable and classically French than those of his Pipe Tristan make. To this end, Lefebvre has been in contact with Bruno Nuttens, another France-based artisan with his own line of affordable, classically-oriented pipes, who has helped him source pre-turned, well-seasoned stummels from the sprawling campuses of France’s pipe making capital, Saint-Claude. Each bowl has been finished and drilled to Lefebvre’s exacting standards and fitted with a custom-modified ebonite stem, with engineering specifications just like Lefebvre’s other pipes. The result are beautiful French briars that are light in the hand and, indeed, on the wallet.
