Papa Bear’s Pipes by Tim Beaumont Sandblasted Dublin Handmade Briar Pipe, New
Out of stock
Description
Papa Bear’s Pipes are made by North American artisan Tim Beaumont. Beaumont has been making pipes since 2018, cultivating a unique style that isn’t afraid to mix and match design elements and to create something completely out of the ordinary.
In the last batch of pipes Tim Beaumont sent our way, I was especially taken by the quality of the sandblasting that he’d managed to achieve. When this batch arrived, I was even more enamored by his technique. It is something of a cliche to say that a pipe has “growth rings for days,” though in this instance the claim is genuinely warranted. Capturing the same, extraordinarily craggy ring grain that American artisans have chased since the 1990s (who were in turn inspired by Barling’s and Dunhill pipes from almost a century earlier), this freehand Dublin uses a contrast stain to emphasize the blast’s depth even further. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Tim Beaumont pipe without a little something extra, this this time taking the form of an acrylic ferrule that shines like a gem embedded within a crown.
