Orlik was an English pipe manufacturer founded in 1899 by Louis Orlik. While originally the company’s mission was to produce low-cost pipes, the make would ultimately be known for the distinctly high quality of their products. Consequently, Orlik pipes are today a favorite among pipe smokers and collectors, especially those who prefer the hobby’s Great British classics.
The Rose is an Orlik line I’m particularly fond of. The name is very appropriate; it is indeed the hue of a red, red rose in full bloom. The stain also gives a nice contrast effect with the fiery briar patterns underneath. It’s elegant and distinctive, but still fairly understated.
This Rose is also completely unsmoked, with a factory original bowl coating to help break it in.
