Nording Moss Partially Rusticated Freehand Sitter Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked

Description
Nørding was founded by Erik Nørding in the 1960s, and is one of the oldest remaining companies to come out of the Scandinavian pipe-making renaissance that began in the mid-20th century. Now in his 80s, Erik Nørding is one of the most experienced and skilled pipe-makers in the world, and over the decades he has also been a teacher of other Danish masters, such as Poul Ilsted, Svend Axel Celius, Jens Tao Nielsen, Peder Jeppesen, and Søren Erik Andersen.
Like the Fantasy line, Nording’s Moss pipes take the already rugged, naturalistic leanings of the famous Danish freehand and take things even further in this direction than their forebears. In the case of the Moss, an earthy, mossy aesthetic is given to the pipes by way of a stony, partial rustication around the base of the bowl. This has the added effect of elevating and amplifying the remaining smooth sections of the briar, giving greater weight to their striking, deep contrast finish. This one is a sitter variant of the Moss, making for an even sturdier companion for the long smokes its chamber promises.
This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating.
